Traffic along East Washington Street is notoriously slow, but in recent months the city has tried to improve the flow by synchronizing the lights to keep cars moving. A majority of those who took part is this week’s unofficial poll say it’s not working. Here were some of the comments:
“They are terrible. Three cars can make it through the left turn from McDowell to East Washington.”
——
“Several times over the last few months I missed being able to turn on a green light due to congestion and had to wait through a change cycle of signal lights. Better synchronization is needed.”
——
“The wait time at Maria and East Washington is sometimes horrible. Please correct the signals at this intersection.”
——
“There isn’t a properly synchronized set of traffic lights anywhere in Petaluma.”
——
“The light at East D Street and Lakeville is ridiculously long.”
