More than 60 percent of respondents to an online Argus-Courier survey Jan. 24, 2007 feel the city should hire a full-time graffiti abatement coordinator.
About half of the respondents think a coordinator would make a significant difference in preventing and removing graffiti. About half of them said they would consider volunteering to help remove graffiti or making a donation to a graffiti abatement fund.

Petalumans are not overly concerned about Petaluma Valley Hospital’s financial status and the impacts of the planned closure of Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa, according to the results of an online survey by the Argus-Courier Jan. 17, 2007.

If respondents to the Argus-Courier’s online survey Jan. 10, 2007 are any indication, Petalumans are pretty evenly divided about proposed changes to Petaluma Boulevard in the downtown area.
The Argus-Courier received 40 responses to its questions about the proposed changes, with just slightly more than half favoring eliminating a lane and adding dedicated left-turn lanes onto Washington Street.

Petaluma is a coffee-drinking
community. Of the readers responding to the Argus-Courier’s online poll Jan. 3,
2007, 93 percent said they drank coffee in the morning. Of the respondents, 30
percent said they drink latte compared to 21 percent who drink regular coffee.
Petaluma coffee drinkers prefer to
buy their beverage from a local independent than from a chain store. Those

Nearly half of those who responded to an Argus-Courier online poll Dec. 27, 2006 said they don’t feel safe in downtown Petaluma after 10 p.m. Slightly
more than half said they feel either “very safe” or “somewhat safe.”
Asked if they feel drinking establishments are sufficiently
