When it comes to holiday shopping, Petalumans are keeping the spending
in town. In an Argus-Courier online poll Dec. 12, 2007, 72.7 percent of respondents said they are buying holiday gifts at Petaluma shops. More than 70 percent of respondents to an online poll Dec. 5, 2007 say the $7.8 million Water Street Promenade was a good investment, but 75 percent say problems of vandalism, graffiti and drug use need to be addressed.Asked what should be done to improve the promenade, 65 percent said more public events, 61.3 percent said more police patrols and 47.5 percent said more lighting.Here are some of the comments …
