Petalumans overwhelmingly oppose a quarter-cent sales tax increase for public safety, but they’re about evenly split on support for an increase in the hotel bed tax (occupancy tax paid by hotel users), according to the results of the Feb. 19, 2009 online poll. Results of survey on gang attacks

About half of those who responded to the Argus-Courier’s online survey Feb. 12, 2009 said that recent assaults by gang members have made them feel less safe walking in their neighborhood at night. About one-third said that they have altered their clothing choices when out in public because of recent gang-related attacks on victims wearing the color red. Results of poll on school budget cuts

Almost two-thirds of the respondents to an Argus-Courier online poll Feb. 5, 2009 say that the impact of school budget cuts will be much greater this year due to the state’s budget situation. What’s the weakest aspect of the city’s retail base?
